Being open to new experiences that stretch us

All of us desire experiences--especially those that are pleasant and fit in with and support our views of ourselves and the world. 

Are we available, though, for experiences, pleasant or unpleasant, that may open us to entirely new views?

 Do we have the capacity and willingness to experience what is necessary to see and grow beyond our current level of being and understanding?"
